Choosing the best content management system to use for your website platform can be a challenging task. There are hundreds of different cms choices and price ranges for cms platforms.

Before you make a decision on which cms software to use you should definitely take some time to ask yourself this question. What do you want your website to do? Consider what you wish to accomplish with your website and which features you desire on your site.

In my experience there’s no right or best cms platform out there. Instead there are the best content management systems based on certain criteria that you wish your website to achieve.

Check For Fake PageRank

If you’re browsing the popular webmaster forums you’ll see a lot of great looking website deals. The only problem with all of the URLs to choose from is fiquring out which ones are real domain bargains and which ones are overhyped trash. One of the tools I always use before ever purchasing an established domain is the Fake PageRank Checker Tool.

Pagerank is the popular search engine Google’s way to calculate the importance of websites in the Google index. When a site has pagerank it is listed between 0 and 10. The higher the pager rank score the better trusted the site is in the eyes of Google.

Get a SiteMap for the Search Engines

If you’d like to make sure your websites pages are able to be easily and completely indexed by the search engines than you’ll want to have a site map created. A site map allows the search engine spiders to quickly browse beyond the home page and past the most popular pages on your site to web pages that are linked deeper on your site.

In the past html site maps were used for all websites. Now the most popular search engine sitemaps are the Google site map and XML site map.  The Google site map is specifically for Google only and will not be understood by the other search engines. Using an XML site map will give you the greatest reach because XML site maps can be read by MSN, Yahoo, Aol and Google.

CoComment will track your blog comments and keep the responses in one place where you can easily see when someone has added to the blog conversation.

Increase Your Website Content for Free

You’ve probably been hearing for quite some time that content is king. I’ve found that statement to be very true with my online business. Here are some marketing strategies you can use to get website content for free.

The more content you have on your website the better chance you have of your website becoming indexed by the search engines. More content with relevant titles and keywords will help your website to become more visible for a wider variety of search terms.
