Web 2.0 Marketing Strategy
In the past for many internet marketers, marketing strategy online consisted of choosing a broad, high profit potential topic and taking it wide. Which simply meant not focusing tightly on a specific area, but instead trying to use a wide amount of keywords to capture visitors to a webpage.
Marketers would often put up a site and attempt to capture a wide range of topics in an effort to get as big a piece of a category as possible. This often resulted in less than stellar results because of the huge amount of effort required and the unfocused search engine marketing strategies involved.
Due to many recent trends in the evolution of Web 2.0 and the long tail theory many internet marketers are advocating going deep. This is simply choosing a profitable niche and dominating it. To dominate your niche you must stay highly focused on a specific niche topic and become the authority of it.
When you become a niche authority you will be the first person people come to when they want answers and you’ll benefit from putting all of your efforts into a central theme making your online position much more powerful.
Learn more about making an authority site and becoming an expert in your niche in video three from Ed Gale. Get rid of non productive efforts and dominate your niche to be more successful online.
